Hall Fundraising Team

In order to finance the refurbishment of the Cathedral Parish Hall, the parish had to take out a loan of £480,000 from the diocese. This is now gradually being paid back.

By the end of March 2008 David Worsfold and the Fundraising Committee had brought the grand total raised over the last six years to £210,000.

Among the many events organised by David and the committee in 2007 was a fascinating evening at Ingatestone Hall when more than £500 was raised. With the permission of Lord Petre a similar event was held in May 2008 featuring the Music and Poetry of the English Countryside.

On Friday 22 May at 7:45 pm, David has organised another evening of stylish entertainment at Ingatestone Hall with the title of Tennyson and The Victorians.

Fr Paul Keane

Athlete Extraordinaire !

15 March 2009

Half Marathon

Looking as cool as the proverbial cucumber after completeing the gruelling Brentwood Half-Marathon, Fr Paul flanked by Mike Daniels & David Worsfold admitted to having no regrets at all.

'I did manage to put in some training' he said, 'and I was very keen to make a contribution to the Cathedral Parish Hall Fund.'

Several people had offered him pre-race tips and advice, but what really counted, he said, was Fr Bill's firm final injunction to 'Pace yourself, Paul, there is an awful lot of money riding on your back!'.
