London Community Gospel Choir Concert

On 29 September the Cathedral echoed to the sound of Gospel music from the London Community Gospel Choir, directed by the Rev Bazil Meade. The audience of about 400 included 60 members of the Workshop Choir, who sang with the principal choir for part of the evening. The programme included such well-known favoutites as Swing Low Sweet Chariot and O Happy Day.

The event was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Brentwood, together with Mgr William Nix, (Dean of the Cathedral), Fr Dan Mason (Assistant Priest), and the Director of Music at the Cathedral, Mr Andrew Wright . The concert was such a success that it is hoped there may be a repeat performance next year.
